What is the Nine Mile Adventure 5k run/walk?
This free marked trail run or walk will allow people in the Central Wisconsin area to get outside on an area premiere trail system at Nine Mile County Recreation Area. You may participate as a family, with your pet, or in solitude.
We have a marked 5.0k (3.12 mile) route all on trails, with no road crossings. We encourage you to get more fresh air and come back to do the course again and again!
Some of you may be venturing to Nine Mile County Recreation Area for the first time and it may be your first time on trails - welcome! We want to encourage all ability levels. If you’re worried about getting lost, print a map and download the GPX file.
Participants can do the course as many times as they wish and get a raffle entry for each time they participate! Make sure you bring your phone to take a selfie along the course.
We ask that you register for the event so we can track the community impact, even if you walk. You may register onsite. Anyone that registers and submits a result and picture will be eligible for prizes!
Invite your friends for an outing and encourage them to join in and share our Facebook event. Or make it a family adventure (trails are plenty wide for a baby jogger). Or just a fun walk for Fido.
Note: This is NOT an official race and no entry fee. This event is totally at your own risk. Be safe, make good choices, follow all applicable directives regarding public lands and CDC recommendations, and make sure you have gear suitable for your local environment.

Winners may choose from any of the following prizes:
One free entry to IRONBULL Ultra Trail event
IRONBULL merchandise (t-shirt, cowbell, mug, cap, or hat)
We have lots of ways to win prizes and you don’t need to be the fastest to win! One prize per household.
1) One prize will be drawn randomly from all official finishers every six days and will be announced at the conclusion of the event. To be an official finisher, you must complete the entire course and submit your result and picture. You may earn multiple entries, even on the same day! If each person in your household registers separately, you can earn entry for each person if you complete the course together, so bring your family!
2) You are encouraged to post at #IRONBULL. The person with the post having the most likes & comments, will also receive a prize.
You may use our digital social media frame. Directions to add frame: Hover over your profile picture when viewing your profile, click on update that should appear over your profile picture, click add frame, search IRONBULL and choose the frame you like best!
We also encourage you to post on your personal Facebook page and tag IRONBULL and the Nine Mile Adventure 5k event.
3) The fastest time (winners must verify their time within 24 hours of notification via Strava, FitBit, Garmin or another tracking app)

Every registrant earns a discount to any 2021 IRONBULL Ultra Trail event upon result submission.
The cause
The event is completely free. We want to highlight our community’s parks & trails as well as offer our community a free activity to stay active. If you want to donate to Wausau & Marathon County Parks and Recreation Foundation to develop outdoor amenities in the area click here.
