Mandatory gear list:
Full Time Mandatory Team Gear: 1 per team must be carried at all times
Fully charged cell phone in dry bag or zip lock bag (powered off for emergency use only for 6-hour and 3-hour (no bike) racers)
Compass
First aid kit
Watch (non-GPS capable for 6-hour and 3-hour (no bike) racers)
Waterproof map case or means to keep maps/instructions dry
Pencil or pen (felt-tip sharpie will work best) that works in cold weather
Full Time Mandatory Individual Gear: each team member must have the following at all times
Backpack or means to carry all gear
Whistle
Hydration system to carry at least 24 oz of water
Space blanket / bag
Food to last duration of race
Hand warmers
Blaze orange clothing (free beanie hat is adequate) - must be visible during all trekking sections
Mandatory Team Biking Gear: 1 per team must be carried on all biking sections
Mini bike pump or CO2
Tool kit for repairs, e.g. changing flat/chain repair
Spare bike tube to fit each bike
Mandatory Individual Biking Gear: each team member must have the following on all biking sections
Bike - biking will take place mainly on roads. Fat tire bikes may be used but are not required. With potentially snow-covered roads, a road bike with narrow tires is not recommended.

Remember adventure racing requires lots of stopping, so you may want to bring an extra layer
