The Red Granite Grinder was named by Strambecco among the 2024 Best Gravel Cycling Events in the Midwest.

Criteria for the ratings include reputation, route quality, location, rider feedback, and the overall uniqueness of the event or race. Spanning Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Indiana, and Minnesota, the Midwest includes other iconic events such as the nation’s largest gravel race, Barry-Roubaix, Unbound Gravel (formerly known as Dirty Kanza), and Gravel Worlds.
