A Family Affair- Black Canyon 100k Race Report
My kids found my picture in Ultra Running magazine!
PHOENIX (Ultra Running Magazine) - Black Canyon 100k was the first time my children would be a part of an entire race experience. After the 30-hour car ride from Wisconsin to Arizona, we scoped out a campsite near the start for race morning. My husband would be crewing for me while taking care of our three children, ages 5, 3, and 1, so we drove to each aid station to scope them out. The Black Canyon Trail is never more than three miles from Interstate 17, which connects Phoenix and Flagstaff, yet it still feels remote.
