Rules

  • You are required to enter the name and email address and sign a liability waiver for each participant prior to starting the course (There is a reminder onsite so you can register online immediately before starting the course.)

  • The course begins outside of the Nine Mile chalet. There are four checkpoints along the course that participants must get to and scan a QR code or take a selfie at every checkpoint to be eligible for raffle prizes.  After scanning the QR code, you will enter your name and acknowledge you are physically on course. A timestamp will be automatically logged. To be eligible for fastest times you must scan the QR codes to log a time.

  • You may use any combination of the two marked routes to get from each checkpoint in numerical order. The GREEN route is all on ski trails and the PINK route is primarily on singletrack. Hints: The fastest way will be a combination of the two routes and the ski trail tends to be hillier.

  • A map of the trails including the two marked route are located here.

  • GPX files of the two marked routes are located here.

  • If you don’t have a QR reader app on your phone, there are several you can download for free as listed in this article.

  • If there is litter, crowds, or vandalism at our parks, our parks may be closed. Please bring gloves to pick up any litter and follow all current Safer at Home orders including social distancing. If the trails seem busy, please come back at another time.

  • If participants suspect any course markers / QR codes have been removed (if the sign with the QR code is removed there is also a backup QR code on a tree at each location), use your map / GPX files and report to executivedirector@ironbull.org.

  • If QR codes are removed or you do not have internet access from your phone, take a picture at each checkpoint and submit to executivedirector@ironbull.org.

  • The each 5k course is the same distance (5.0k / 3.1 miles) but may be slightly shorter or longer if you mix and match the two courses.

  • Participants are encouraged to do the course multiple times to find the fastest route. Participants may submit one entry for every route completion to increase your chance at a prize! Come back to better your time!

  • One prize per household.

  • All participants must take a selfie at one of the checkpoints and either post on social media or email to executivedirector@ironbull.org within 24 hours to be eligible for prizes.

  • Winners must be verified by submitting their route or pictures at every checkpoint within 24 hours of notification.

  • Please uphold good sportsmanship and trail etiquette. If there are wet/muddy spots or trail maintenance, please choose a different route. If you need to pass someone on the trail, alert them and give each other plenty of space. Note trails are open for mountain biking starting May 1 and Nine Mile is open to turkey hunting.

  • You must complete all sections on foot (no bikes) with the exception of baby joggers.

  • Dress for the weather and leave a plan with a friend so they know where you are and when to expect you back.

  • Participants are encouraged to do the activity with their household and/or pet and wear a costume!

  • Participants have anytime in between April 24-May 3, 2020 to complete the course.

  • Updates including fastest times will be periodically updated on our Facebook page!
